25 years ago, TV3 (from Television of Catalonia) was broadcasted for the first time in
País Valencià (Valencian Country). On January 2007 started closing procedure of boosters from the social organization
Acció Cultural del País Valencià (Cultural action of the Valencian Country). These boosters are the only ones that broadcast the 4 channels of the
Corporació Catalana de Mitjans Audiovisuals (Catalan Media Corporation). During the last two years, the Catalan Government has had
the wish of reaching a reciprocity agreement between the broadcasting of Canal 9 and TV3 with Valencian Government. However, the reciprocity agreement has not been reached,
three boosters had been closed and
Acció Cultural del País Valencià has been fined. We are not facing a technologic issue, but politics. The Valencian Government has two multiplex which means ten free-dealership DBV channels. Out of ten channels, there are 4 or 5 channels which may be broadcasting the channels of the CCMA.
To achieve the broadcasting of the Catalan corporation channels in Valencian Country again, a popular initiative has been started through a signature collection to obtain the passing of a law. The bill will be handed in the Spanish congress by a prestigious group of people which act as promoter of the project. From now, we have nine months of time
to collect a minimum of 500.000 valid signatures in Spain.
